After heading off to Durham University, I wanted to start a band. Will came to Durham a year later, and I told him about a talented bassist called James and the building blocks for Motion Theory were in place. I then met Dom, who shared our passion for music and conveniently came with a fantastic set of vocal chords. I have been in bands since I was fourteen and gigged in many different areas of the country. I play piano and clarinet as well as guitar. I moved on to study at the University of Oxford and I spent most of my time composing wierd and wonderful contemporary stuff with a kind of alt-rock edge. I am now working as a freelance media composer which gives me the chance to create music across many styles. Take a look at my personal website at www.jamie-wesley.com.
A few favourite composers/artists: Debussy, Varèse, Stravinsky, Nine Inch Nails, Beethoven, Steve Vai, Incubus. Show of Hands, A Perfect Circle... So a reasonably varied taste.
Stuff I like includes Tea and Biscuits, Cheese, Fire, Top Gear, Samuel L Jackson, Formula 1 and 15yr Dalwhinnie.
