Hello, My Name is Will. Have a nice day. I was born in Rochdale and grew up in Ashton-under-Lyne, a charming little suburb of Manchester, and moved to Macclesfield primarily to attend the King's School. People are often surprised when they hear I went to a private school, because I'm nice and things, but apparently it can happen.
I've been playing drums since I was 10. You'd think I'd be pretty good by now...ah well. I've played in so many bands I can't be bothered to count them, and I'm not very choosy about genre. Metal bands, punk bands, jazz bands, polka bands, cover bands, original bands, playing drums, bass, guitar, singing, I'll try anything once. I can't really imagine ever having only one musical project running at a time.
I am influenced by every piece of music I listen to. John Bonham, Danny Carey, Robby Ameen, Dave Grohl, John Otto and Jose Pasillas are probably my main sources of inspiration as far as playing in Motion Theory, but all aspects of percussion and music in general interest me, and I will never pass judgement on any sort of music until I've heard it. I have become so immersed in so many aspects of music over the last few years, it's construction, performance, and translation to recorded media, that I find it nearly impossible to listen to music passively any more...bummer.
